COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE HEUD A']? LEVhN.
Advice has been received by Mr 11. F. .Green, secretary of the Levin Amateur Athletic Association, from the secretary of the Wellington Association, that it has been decided to grant to Levin the Country Clubs championship meeting this year. A special meeting will be held on Easter Saturday, April 11th, the programme to follow that Qf the Wellington /Centre Championship and to include the 100yds, 220yds, 440yds, 880yds, mile and three hille, relay race, one and three mile cycle, one and three mile walk, and ladies 100 yards race. The high jump, long jump, hop, step, and jump, pole vault, putting the shot, and throwing the hammer championships, will also toe competed for. The district •from which competitors are drawn for the Country Club championship meeting extends from the hounds of the Wellington Centre ' to New Plymouth and Napier in the north, so that the Easter meeting 1 will' be a very fine one. The honour of holding the championship meeting is keenly competed for by country clubs, and it is a tribute to the progress made locally in athletics that Levin should liave secured it this year.
