Bennett and Auckram opened to Douglas and Madsen and disaster came in the first over, when Auckram was bowled by Douglas. Bennett was batting well but soon lost Walker, Field and Hopa, and when Sharp came in 4 wickets were down lor 23. Alter adding 10 runs Bennett was bowled by Douglas.. Nicholson and Sullivan both batted well and Sharp batted right through and was bowled when the last man came in, after having made 37 by patient cricket. Douglas bowled well, securing 6 for 28. The fielding Of Moutoa was never slack. Requiring just on 100 to win, Moutoa opened with Madsen and McDonald to Bennett and Field. Madsen soon ran into double figures, but Ben. nett got him and McDonald, both caught in the slips, with good howling. Ricketts came in and hatted very well indeed, staying almost right through for 34 scored by good cricket, it was a good catch when Hopa cajught him Qff Field. None of the others showed up and aU were, out with a deficit of 25 runs.
