The bowler hat for men has been coining into favour for some time, says an English writer. A little over a year ago the grey soft hat was monotonous; there seemed to be less variety in the headgear of a crowd of Englishmen than there is in the dress of Chinese. That, of course, could not continue. It seems unlikely, however, that men will let the bowl'er completely master them; it is not beautiful, and it has not the easy air of the soft felt. And men nowadays demand simplicity, comfort and flexibility in everything they wear. They may, ind'eed, momentarily succumb to a more rigid and dressy fashion, but they will inevitably return to their ease. It doe s not follow that they will unanimously crown themselves once more with " billy-cocks." Yet they may! .sA-iliStK'
