\A cow must have the capacity to consume and digest large quantities of: food. About 60 per cent of the food goes to maintain the body. Some cows are so weak in capacity they can use little more food than ihat necessary to sustain the body. Remember that a cow crn make absolutely no milk except from the feed she eats.
It is necessary that ah ample supply of pure water be provided for milking cows at all times, but especially must this point be attended to in hot and ry weather. A cow n-->eds at any time 12 gallons of water daily. This should be borne in mind, and a sufficient supply of pure water provided for milkers at aL times, but more particularly in hot summer weather, when thirst is increased.
