ALL BLACK UNJUSTLY ACCUSED. MANAGER, DEAN’S STATEMENT. j (Received This Lay, 11.30 ami.) LONDON, Jan. 4. Mr S. Dean, manager of the All Blacks, in a special interview in regal'd to the. ordering off of Brownlie, said:— “It is felt the referee made a mistake. Neither the referee, Wakefield (the English captain) nor any English player questioned regarding the alleged kicking can name, the player kici<ed. “Brownlie's denial of the allegation is supported by the rest of the New Zealand team. “It is felt a grave injustice has been done to Brownlie.. “The unfortunate occurrence lias cast a gloom over the whole party, notwithstanding the team’s meritorious victory.”
