MMAWATU MEETING—THIRD DAY.
GAZE WINS LIVERPOOL HANDICAP. KAWAU SPRINT TO DANGLE. The third day of the Manawatu Club’s summer racing carnival was held at Awapuni yesterday in very unsummery weather, a very heavy shower intervening just before the fifth race and continuing at intervals for the remainder of the meeting. The track, heavy, up to that point, became a quagmire, as did the grounds also. The tote put through £35,932 as against £35,526 for the concluding day last year. The total for the meeting was £123,981, as against £122,965 last year. Results:—
