FASHIONABLE LONG HAIRED FUR.

One Of the best ways to keep longhaired fur fresh is totake a brush and a flat bowl of water, and brush the way of the fur, continually shaking the brush in the water to be iure that it is clean —slap the water with the brush; do not dip it right under —taking care of course, not to make your fur too drippingly wet. A few drops of ammonia in the water, will help a great deal if your fur be dirty. Wipe down afterwards and dry in a draught. When dry, shake and comb the fur gently with widetoothed conib. To preserve your furs, always hang them Up-—in a dark place for preference —carefully. Beat out the dust with a cane now and again. Sewing fur isn’t an easy matter—the thread will keep catching on the hair. 'Next time you have to sew fur. as a trimming, on a dress or coat, cut out a strip of cardboard about three inches by one and a-half inches, and hold this over the fur, keeping the pile towards you. The card will prevent the hairs catching in the sewing.
