LEVIN STOCK SALE.
DECLINE IN PIGS; *, There was a decided drop in pigs at the Levin weekly; sale yesterday, the decline amounting to several shillings per head. An entry which Was one of the; largest seen locally tills year may (have been responsible for tills to a certain decree, The drop was particularly noticeable in vveaners, which showed a decline of probably 6s per head, selling as low as 13s. Porkers weie not ahected to any extent, and larger stores met with a fair demand at about late rates.
iSheep were very poorly represented, but the demand was keen lar all offerings. A line of medium quality 'Shorn 2-tooth wethers, made. 19s 6d, which represents a rise of 3s per head on late rates. A couple of small lines Of fat hoggets made 30s to 345. The prices of cattle was unaltered. Prices were as. follow; .
! Pigs: Weaners 13s to 20s . 6d, small stores. 255, 28s 6d, larger 30s to 395, powers £2 to £2 ss, heavy tcf £2 15s, light baconers £3 to £3 3s, sow to farrow JE4 3s 6d.
Sheep: Eat hoggets. 30s to 345, 2tooth shorn wethers 29s 6d* Cattle: Medium fat cows £4 to £5 14s, light 'and unfinished to £3 18s., fonvard conditioned cows £2 10s to £3 ss, store cows 20s to 355, cows and calves £3 2s 6d, heifers" r.w.b. £3, yearling heifers 31s to £2 18s, yearling steers £2 11s, bulls £2 5s to £5.
