FEILDING RACKS, SECOND DAY.

AVOLA GIVES AN ENCORE. SPRINT WON BY DANGLE. TAMATETE THE CLASSIC HERO. The Feilding Jockey Club wa3 again favoured with fine weather for the second day of the Spring Meeting, which must be marked down as one of the most successful the club has yet held. The course was in good order and the racing interesting. The totalisator handled £24,887 as against £20,030 for the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £50,692 as against £43,406 last year, an increase Of £7,186.

Flag's were at half-mast and the jockeys wore arm-bands as a token of respect to the memory of the late A. J. McFlynn, who died of Injuries, received at Takapuna on Saturday. One or two matters engaged the attention of the stewards. The inquiry into the running of Merit in the Flying Handicap ott Saturday was continued. T. Fage, the jockey, was severely cautioned and warned that a repetition of such a display of horsemanship would probably cost him his license. S. J. Reid, Merit’s trainer, was also cautioned, as the stewards were dissatisfied with his explanation of the horse’s form, particularly concerning his riding instructions to Fage. E. Corlett was fined £1 for using cutting spurs on Sir Wai and R. Knox was fined £2, both to be cautioned and C. Carmont was also fined £1 for a similar offence when riding Helen Rufus on the first day.
