ALL BLACKS BEAT CARDIFF-
CARDIFF’S DETERMINED FINISH.

The New Zealanders revisited Wales to-day, meeting Cardiff in the presence of forty thousand people, and after an exciting game, which at times was very hotly contested, they won by 16 points to 8. Tremendous enthusiasm prevailed among the crowd. The weather was fine and the turf in excellent onder. Porter And Parker Fielded. The All Blacks’ Team was: — Full-back: G. Nepia. Three-quarters: K. S. Svenson, H. W. Brown, F. W. Lucas. Five-eighths: A. E. Cooke (2), M. F. Nicholls (1). Half: J. Mill. Wing-forward: C. G. Porter (Capt.). Back-row: A. White, J. H. Parker. Supports: J. Richardson, M. J. Brownlie. Lock: R. R. Masters. Hookers: W. R. Irvine, Q. Donald. Cardiff's Initial Advantage. Cardiff kicked off and made the initial attack, Lucas driving the Welshmen back from centre-field with a fine line-kick. Both sides opened out and exerted great pressure. Play was for a time in New Zealand quarters, but afterwards shifted to Cardiff’s line. Nepia In The Limelight. Then Nepia got possession, dashed through the opponents and passed, almost enabling Svenson to get over. Nepia’s powerful kicking was a feature'of play at this period. Nicholls Kicks Penalty Goal. The Cardiff forwards were rather handicapped by over-keenness and after 23 minutes’ play, local off-side infringement gave Nicholls a chance to place a magnificent goal from ten yards from the centre:— New Zealand 3 Cardiff 0 Lucas Crosses Welsh .Line. " Strenuous play resulted in a couple of .Cardiff men suffering minor injuries. Off-side play by Porter gave Cardiff a chance at goal but the kick was charged down. After half-an-hour’s play Richardson gave a long pass to Lucas, who dived' over at the corner, Nicholls found the angle too much for him: — New Zealand 6 Cardiff 0 Typical White Try. New Zealand’s formation improved as the game progressed, the forwards being specially prominent. The passing of the Welsh backs was much too dilatory. Just as half-time approached White scored as the result of a fine bit of following up. Nichoiis made no mistake about the goal and the spell ended: — New Zealand II Cardiff 0

On the resumption of play, the pace became tremendous. Parker, playing right wing, kicked across field under the posts and Nicholls, right on the spot, scored a try to which he added the goal:— New Zealand .......... 16 Cardiff 0
About this time Porter, who was playing aggressively, was caught offside and Wallace kicked a penalty goal for Cardiff:— New Zealand 16 Cardiff 3 Cardiff Quickly Adds Goal.
Deleheay immediately afterwards scrambled round the side of the scrum and scored, Wallace converting:— New Zealand 16 Cardiff 8
Mixing It.
The players became somewhat heated and several were temporarily hurt, the game being intensely exciting to the end. Tlie Marker Strikes.
No further score iwas registered, and the All Blacks emerged victors: New Zealand 16 Card/iff 8 Welshmen Rise to Occasion. Cardiff played surprisingly well,, although the centre men and backs failed badly. The game was more virile than scientific. The New Zealanders w : ere not predominant in the second half, and their form generally was not up to their” usual standard. Same Old Story.
Nicholls was the outstanding player and Nepia reliable. Richardson, Porter,. ‘ White and Brownlie were the most conspicuous forwards. i
