With the .exception of pigs there was an average yarding oi a lock at tne Levin weekly saie yesiemay, prices ruling at' about late rates. Despite short supply, pigs snoweu a decline in price from last weeiv s peak rates, to that ruling lor the past month, femaii weaiiers made sts, with larger 37s to 3is, forward stores made £2 2s to £2 10s, with iigm porkers £2 Us to £2 19s. There w.as a lair yarding of sheep, mostly shorn, which said well nnp w late rates. Fat cattle were represented by cows only, heavy cows, making £4 17s to £6 Is, with lighter £3 IUo to £4 7s. A number of pedigree Jersey bulls were offered 'and made to £U 10s. Good dairy heifers in milk realised £9 15s, and a choice line oi yearling Jersey grade heilers made £4 3s 6d. Prices were as. follow:
Pigs: Small weaneis 225, jiieavicr 27s to 31s, good stores 39s 6d, forward stores £2 2s to. £2 10s,, light, porkeri £2 9s to £2 Us, heavier to £2, 19s. Sheep: "Woolly fat wethers 44s 6d, shorn 2-tooth wethers 24s 6d, woolly fat ewes 395, shorn ditto, 255, forward woolly hoggets :24s to 31s, shorn ditto 24s 3d.
Cattle: Heavy fat cows £4 17s to £6 Is, light lat cows £3 13s. to £47s, forward cows £2 to. £2 15s, dairy cows, good sorts, £7 15s to £9 2s 6d, heiiers in milk to £9 15s, others £4 to £6, 2-yr pedigree Jersey bulls to £ll 10s, yearling pedigree Jersey bulls to £lO 10a' grade Jersey bulls £6 to £6 ss, choice Jersey-grade yearling -heilers £4 2s 6d, good £2 9s to £2 lis, others 255, 37s 6d, to. 38s, store cows 25s to 395.
