Tiie Wellington Y.M.C.4. is celebrating its iilst -birthday "By holding' a Grand Nautical Carnival from November Ist to Bth in the Town Half, ! Wellington. Members of the Association are actively preparing for what vyill be a novei and , attractive display. Tlie atmosphere-iwill be redolent 01 the sea, a prominent feature being a lull rigged brig in the centre of the HalL Maiiy lady friends are working hard f Qr this notable event and are soliciting supplies for sale at their- stalls. .These will represent various familiar sea features such as lighthouses, etc. The Y.M.C.A. makes its appeal not lOnly on account of the extensive work it is doing for the young, people of Wellington, but also on behalf of the definite service it renders to lads and young men coming from the country. The Donbank Hostel alone accommodates 100 residents, most from the country. Gifts of produce, ".butter, cheese, cakes, flow.ers, poultry, eggs, etc., will be received at Y.M.CA... Levin, by Mr L W. Gibson, all day Tuesday, Nov. 4th and till noon Wednesday Nov. sth. Shannon Depot, Mr Howard Andrew, Draper, Shannon, on October 31st. •■ , ■ -
