TURKISH TEMERITY.
WHAT WILL LEAGUE OF NATIONS DO? (Received Thursday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 8. The "Daily Telegraph's" diplomatic correspondent says the situation in Northern Iraq Has taken a new grave turn. The Angora Government has not only not replied to the British Note, but has deliberately .authorised an, aggravation of the trouble. , Turkish troops which -.rigrnally invaded Iraq have not only remained there, but Haw hen du 1 siantially reinforced. The absence of any collision between the invaders and the Agio-Iraq forces is only due to the British commander's restraint and his withdrawal in order td" avoid a clash. This outrage concerns the League of Nations as much as Britain, as Iraq is under a League mandate, It remains to be seen what the League j Council will do to vindicate its authority and whether the other League Power's will support the Anglo-Iraq forces. i
