BOWLING.
At a meeting of the Shannon Bowling Club the secretary reported that the Club was in a" .very satisfactory position. Letters were read from Fox. ton 'Woodville 1 , paimerston North and Otaki Clubs inviting' Shannon to send rinks to take part in their opening days. It was resolved that members wishing to attend should, put their names down on the Club's blackboard. A good deal of discussion took place in regard to the club's singles, pairs, and rinks championships. It was agreed that they should be played, and that a general meeting be,called to discuss haying the green lit by electricity so that some games could be played at night. "\> On Laiboiur Day a progressive pairs tournament will be held and it is hoped that all Club members will take part. A challenge for the Mangahao Ferns from Cooper, Blight, Quarrie, gagliardi (skip) was handed to the holders, Clayton", Whibley, Murray, Roach (skip). It was decided that the teams fix. a date for, the game.
Mr Murray stated that all matters in connection with the art union had been completed., and a vote of thanks Was passed to Mr Murray.'for the work he had done- inkling twentyfive books.
An endeavour- will be made this season to have a series of friendly games with outside clubs so that all members shall be able to take part and infuse Igreater interest in the club. The Dixon Pins for club play on Wednesdays are held by Clayton and Roach, and the StanseU Feathers for Saturday players by Quarrie and Gagliardi. < Members desiring to play for the above are. invited to forward challenges to the secretary.
