DAIRY INDUSTRY.
FACTORY ADVANCES FOR AUGUSTSEPTEMBER. Prospect* tor the dairying industry locally look particularly might at present. For the first ten days in September the output oi butter irom the Levin Co-op. Dairy Company exceeded the corresponding period oi last year by four tons,, a fact for which the more iljavoiirable season, and fthe better condition in which the cows came in, is probably in a large measure responsible. With the Home markets firm the industry shows a very optimistic tone, and provided an unexpected recurrence of cold bleak weather does not occur, a very successful season should result. The following advances to suppliers in respect Qf the AuigustSeptember supplies have been made by the undermentioned factories: Shannon Co.op. Co. (butter) 1/9; Leyin Co.-op. Dairy Co. (butter), Is 7d; Whakaronga, cheese, Is 7d, butter Is 7d; Awahuri (butter), Is 7d; New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union (butter),. Is 7d; Palmerston North Dairy Company, Limited (butter), Is 6d; Kairanga (butter), Is 6d.
