RAJNWAYMEN’S HOMES IN - PAHIATUA, WELLINGTON,. Last Night. Recently Mr Ransom (Pahiatua) asked in' the House when the Railway Department proposed to take the necessary steps for the purchase of land and the erection of homes for railway servants of the Pahiatua, Woodville> and Dannevirke district. ', In reply, the Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Railways, said that in connection with its housing operations, the Department is, as far as possible, erecting houses in order of their urgency, and is still engaged in meeting essential requirements in -towns where houses are unprocurable. The position so far as the towns mentioned are concerned will be taken into consideration with a view of affording such relief as may be possible as soon as more necessitous cases in, other places have been dealt with.
