A great deal of annoyance and unnecessary work, has been .caused to the Borough construction staff by wanton damage that has 'been done to the concrete kerbdng that is being put down in Weraroa road. The night after- the concrete was completed, indentations were made, along the top, evidently bv someone digging in With his boot-heels. Last night-the boxing was removed from the work, and on the staff reaching'the scene this morning it was found that serious damage had been done along a length of two chains. Some person had taken advantage of the concrete being green to break large pieces off at intervals from one end to the other. Judging from the imprints of a boot the - perpetrator was not a child. It took most of the morning to repair the kerbmg and apart from the waste of time this involves, the result is to give a patchy job that will not be as satisfactory as the., original work. It is a' pity tnat the individual responsible for such wanton mischief cannot be detected and punished.
