REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY.
HOROWHENUA DEFEATED 1 BY BUSH UNION. Wednesday the Horowhenua repre-s-en.Utives me t Afhe Bush Union at Pahiatua in a match for the Behbington shield and were defeated by 9 points (three unconverted tries) to nil. ' Horowhenua! was lutnfortunate in that several of their best players were unable to travel to a mid-week match and although Bush put in anything but a strong team, the local men were soundly beaten on the play. The weather was showery and the ground heavy. The ball was consequently difficult to handle. Bush played a forward game and Horowhenua being weak in the vanguard attempted to play their backs,, which under the conditions was extremely difficult. The showing of the local men was depressingly poor and Bush., playing with the wind' in the fiist spell, put up the whole of their score in this time. Horowhenua, when they got the .benefit of the wind could do no more than hold the opposition. The scorers for Bush were P. Galvin, Rewe' and Monaghan. Mr J. Hanary (Woodville) refereed.
The Wanderers y. Rovers match will be played on the Levin Domain and Shannon y. Weraroa at Weraroa instead of the grounds mentioned in yesterday's issue.
