MAORI LAND PICTURES.
SATURDAY'S STAR.
Action and thrills mixed with a definite thread of romance and a liKeable personality constitute the elements of "Blue Blazes," starring Lester Guneo, at the Maoriland Theatre to-morrow. This is Cuneo's first picture to be distributed by Fox and if those to come are up to its. standard tiheu Cuneo will add <Q its already large following. "Blue Blazes" is the story of a, world-famous prize-fighter, who' became tired of adulation and business bickerings. Forgetting a theatrical contract that would bring him £IO,OOQf, he disappears in search of romance, ilie finds* what he is looking for in the Great South-west, where pretty Mary Warren, played by Francelia Billington. is in dire need of a stalwart protector. A thrilling hand-to-hand duel to death in a Blazing oil well is a tense situation in the picture. ON MONDAY.
"Pare Grit" i s billed for Monday. A man who- will shoot a pal in oold blood for a mere letter of identification to a "long lost" sister and then hide behind a woman's skirts to dodge the law is pretty low. This cuss would ha.ve escaped across the Mexican border had it not been for .a Texas ranger and a little freckle-faced kid. Thereis a lot of dramatic action and human interest in-" Pure Grit," starring Roy Stewart, The picture was directed by Nat Ross.
