HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
The weekly meeting .of the Horowhenua Rugby Union was held pn Tuesday, the president (Mr F. Nash) being m the chair. Also present: Messrs O’Connor, Austin, Dimock, Robinson, Hardie, Hutchings, Rimmer, and the Secretary, Mr L. CarmichaelCORRESPONDENCE.
The Nelson Rugby Union wrote stating that their touring rep. team would reach Levin on August 18th., and asked that a referee be appointed.—Received. '
ALL BLACK FIXTURE. The secretary of the Koputaroa Football Club asked that the Northern versus Southern Junior match be played on some day other than the 26th July, ,'as many of the players would wish to see the All Black game in Palmerston North on that date. Similar lecUua were also received from Shannon and Miranui —Agreed to postpone ail matches. BEP. GAME FOR OTAKI.
The King Country Union wrote com firming the date. September 24th, for tneii match against Horowhenua. Hardie moved that the Union b<. written to accepting the late and informing them that the game would be played at Otaki.—Carried. TAiHAPE MATCH AT SHANNON.
The Taihape Rugby Sub-Union asked f;,r a date for a rep. game, suggesting that a mid-week match -would suit best. —Agreed that the match be played at Shannon and that an endeavour be made to have the game played on a Saturday in August. , CHARGES FOR REP. GAMES. Moved by Mr Nash and seconded by Mr Carmichael that in future, charges for admission to all rep. matches be Is 6d to men and is to ladies. , Mr Dimo.ck moved an amendment that 2s be charged to men, ladies to be free. The amendment lapsed for want of a seconder. Mr Hardie moved a further amendment that men be charged Is 6d, ladies to be free. Mr Austin seconded. Mr Robinson protested against ladies being admitted free to rep. matches. . They were treated well for club matches, being admitted free on all occasions. It was only right that they pay for rep. games. The amendment was lost and the original motion carried. • Agreed that the ‘ Foxton-Weraroa Fourths game* be played at Levin on Saturday, 19th. INSURANCE. Agreed that F. Wilson’s insurance of £9 be paid; also G. H. Johnstone £6, and K. Bartholomew £4. Accounts totalling £3 were passed for payment. Referees and gatekeepers reports were received.
