A delicious' supper was partaken 01, and the ladies deserve credit for able maimer in which they carried out their duties in this respect. Very enjoyable music was Mr Coward's orchestra, and at 2.30 a very pleasant and memorable occasion terminated. A farewell evening is to be accorded to Mr and Mrs Phillip on Friday night in the public hall. Trje entertainment will take the form of dancing, interspersed with musical Items. Miss Cruickshank has joined the senool staff, taking the place of Miss ■Miss Beswiok, a former resident here, was obliged to enter the Palmerston hospital, but is now on the road to recovery. on the evening of Wednesday next, Mr and Airs Glapham, who have been residents here for about thirteen years, are to be fare welled. Mr Clap-ham,- who until recently was a member of the school committee, and also of the -Athletic Club, has aJways taken a great interest in the progress of t3ic district, and Mrs Clapham has been a kindly neighbour an,, lias made mainy friends. A party, given" toy the younger nieniMrs of the community, farewelled Miss Doreen Ciapham; and a very pleasant time was spent. Master Jack Kelly, a victim of the accident at the pi'cture show, is now making satisfactory progress towards recovery. : '
