HEAVY YABDINGS AND GOOD PRICES. CHRISTCHURCH Last Night. At the Addington market to-day. heavy fat cattle and fat sheep yarrtings were again forward. All classes of stock sold at up to last week’s rates, except beef, which was easier. Store Sheep.—A large entry. All classes sold well, except old ewes, which were in over supply and frequently failed to find buyers. Good sound and tailing mouthed Romney cross ewes in lamb. 33/1; aged R°ni. cross ewes, in lamb, good condition, 27/1; low conditioned soundmouthed half-bred ewes in lamb, 29/9; crossbred, 28/6; aged hall-bred ewes in lamb, 16/- to 20/4; aged crossbred ewes in lambs. 15/S: to 18/3 aged empty owes,. 14/- 'to 16/6; good half-bred ewe lambs, 31/- to 32/-threo-quartcr-bred ewe lambs, 2t>/4; crossbred ewe lambs,' 25/1; small 'ha 1 tim'd owe lambs. 27/2; small halfbred wether lambs, 21/- to 21/6, mixed-se*ed half-bred lambs. 24/- to 26/2; mixed-sfcixed thrce-quarter-bied lambs, 24/4; cull mixed-sexed lambs, 19/5; good forward four and S’.xtoothod half-bred wethers. 33/- :o 34/1: ordinary four, six and cig’htt.othed half-bred wethers, * 27/4 to 31/10; small two-toothed wethers, 25/-; culled four, six and eighttoothed wethers. 24/3. Fat Lambs. —A smaller entry than usual, 2150 head being penned These met with a very keen sale, firming on last week’s value. Prime lambs, under 421bs, made full Hid a lb; ovc rwei gift s. 10 3d; unde weights, 10? d; extra prime lambs, fetched 40/-; prime. 31/- to 37/-; medium, 30/- to 33/6; light, 25/- to 29/6. Fat Sheep.—A heavy yarding. A brisk export demand prevailed throughout and the sale "was practically as good as last week. Extra prime wethers sold co 52/-; prime, 38/- to 43/-; medium. 34/C to 37/6; light, 30/- to 34/-; extra prime ewes. 37/-; special pen. to 45/-; prime, 31/to 31/6; medium. 27/6 to 30/6; light, 23/6 to 27/-; old, 18/6 to 22/6. Fat Cattle. —511 head were yarded, the quality being better, than usual. There were drafts from the North Island, Marlborough, and West Coast Prices were easier by 20/- per head. Extra prime beef sold at up to 32/per lOOlbs; prime, 27/6 to 31/-; medium, 24/6 to 27/-; light, 20/- to 24/- rough, down to 12/6; extra prime steers realised £ls; prime,’ £lO 15/to £l4; medium, £9 to £l9 12/6; lights £8 10/-; extra prime heifers. £lO 12/6; prime, £5 10/- to £8; ordinary, £3 10/to £3 7/6; prime cow r s. £9 2/6; medium, £3 to £4 13/-. Vealers. —An overflow entry. The market was'a shade better than last week though, many small calves werc unsaleable. Runners sold at £5 7/6; good venters, £3 to £3 .15/-; good calves, £2 to £2 15/-; small, S/- to £ 1 10/-.
Store Cattle.—These made a large entry mainly cows, which met with a good demand for potting. Best cows sold at £2 S/- to £3; fair, £1 10/- to £2; inferior, £1 to £1 5/-. Dairy Cows. —A large entry came forward and sales were hard to make Best springers' brought £0 to £l3; medium. £0 to £8 15/-; best springing heifers, £8 to £ll. Fat Pigs.—A small entry, with a good demand. Prices improved Choppers fetched £2 10/- to £7; light baconers; £3 15/- to £4 10/-; heavy £4 15/- to £5 10/-; ex*fa heavy. £0 (average price per lb 7d to Sd); light, porkers, £2 2/- to £2 7/6; heavy, £2 15/- to £3 7/- (average price P er l’ l 73d (o Sid). Store Pigs.—Medium arid extra quality weaners improved in price others sold at late rates. Weaners, 10/. to 15/-; small stores, 18/- to 24/-''. medium, 27/- to 37/-.
