ANNUAL MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS.

t KOPUTAROA - SCHOOL. . The annual statutory meeting of householders in connection with the election of the School Committee was held in the school-room on Monday, May sth, when tliere was a good attendance. The chairman of the retiring committee (Mr H. K. Walton), who did not seek re-election, presided. Tite chairman’s report showed that, although there was ,a slight .falling-off in the attendance during the past 12 months, the school had had a very successful year, the percentage of passes obtained in all grades having been very satisfactory. With the exception of the period during which the influenza Epidemic was raging the health o.f the school had been particularly good and the attendance had ibeem well maintained. Tile school had been fortunate in possessing an excellent staff and to them in'a great, measure was due the satisfacto'ry condition of the school. On the motion of the chairman a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the staff for the care they had devoted to the children. ELECTION OF COMMITTEE.

The following committee was elected:—Messrs C. H. Hood (chairman), S. Spencer, C. Peterson, S. A. Broadbelt and R. Gilmore. Messrs Spencer, Peterson and Gilmore being new members.

A'hearty vote of thanks to the retiring members of the committee was carried by acclamation, particular reference being made to the work done by Mr Walton as chairman of the committee and to the general regret felt at his leaving the district. Mr Walton stated in reply that lie was always pleased to give what assistance lie could in school committee work. He had sal ways made a point of being connected with education matters in whatever district lie had lived and would probably continue to do so. In Koputaroa he’had been associated with gentlemen with whom it was a pleasure to work and lie had enjoyed the work immensely. A hearty vote ,of thanks to the chair calrried ity concluded the meeting.
