Executive, outlined the negotiations, advising tlie mien to maintain order and remain on good terms with ' members- of th 6 Engine-driv- , ers, Firemen and Cleaners Association, the rank and file of whom are in entire sympathy with- the A.S.R. claims. He felt sure members of the E.F.C.A. would soon be with them. “If they do not come in by their heads they will be dragged in by their shoulders,” he declared.
The strike appeared to be. popular with the majority of those present, but some of the older men, no doubt (having superannuation in. mind, quietly expressed the conviction that the strike was no good to them. The proceedings were quite orderly.
