HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
MEETIN.G OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTER
The weekly meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union was held on Tuesday, the president of the Union, Mr E. Nash, ‘being voted 'to the chair. Also presen Austin, Hutchings, Robinson, Hardie, O’Rourke, O’Gonnor, Dimock, Riihmer and the secretary, Mr L. Carmichael. On the motion of the president a vote of deepest sympathy was passed to Mr F. Njewmah, of Eoputaraa, in his recent sad bereavement, a vote of sympathy to the Poneke FootbaliF Club in, the loss of their president being also carried. Proposed by Mr O’Connor, seconded by Mr Nash, that clubs be notified that their balance sheets must be sent in to the Union by April 28. Carried.
■ It was further decided that in future the rule providing that club balance sheets must reach the Union by April Ist, shall be enforced.
Proposed by Mr Nash, seconded by Mr O’Connor that Taylor, who resides during the week-ends in Shannon, be permitted to play for Shannon.—Carried. Proposed by Mr O’Rourke, seconded by Mr Dimock that the president and secretary be deputed to inspect grounds and that benzine and oil for car be allowed by the Union.—Carried. Proposed by Mr Carmichael, seconded by Mr Hardie, that Rover's Football Club be in charge of Prouse’s paddock.—Carried. .
Proposed by Mr Nash, seconded by Mr Rimmer, that Weraroa be entitled to enter another third grade team, provided that it is nominated before next meeting of the Union. Proposed by Mr Austin, seconded by Mr Robinson, that a postponement committee She formed, to consist of Messrs Nash, O’Connor and Rimmer, such committee to meet at 10 a.m. Proposed by Mr Rimmer, seconded by Mr Austin, that delegates hand in names of schools .in tli/eir districts for distribution of footballs and a committee be formed to distribute footballs to the following schools : Paekakariki, Paraparauiriu, Waihoanga, Reikorangi, Te Hqro, otaki (2), Manakau, Ohuu, Levin (2), Koputaroa, Shannon, Makerua, Tokoma.ru, Moutoa, Fox ton (3), Training Farm,, R angle ft!. Oroua Downs, Baiuesse. Mr L. Carmichael was depufied to take charge- of the distribution. . * NOTICE. OF MOTION. . Mr O’COrinor gave notice of motion that p, reorganisation scheme be discussed at next meeting for the purpose of' stimulating football throughout the Union.
