The Otalci Maori Racing Club will give in stakes for the June meeting the sum of £2445—£1325 the first day, and £ll2O the second. The cup will be worth £4OO to the first horse, and will be run the first day, while the _ Huia Handicap on the second day will be worth £3OO. The stakes for the Hurdle Race are £l5O, ICuku Maiden £IOO, Waitohu Hack £l5O, Cup £4OO, Otaki Hack £l5O, Taipua Handicap £225, and the Welter £l5O. For the second day the stakes will be Hurdles £l5O, ■ Tainui Hack £l2O, Huia Handicap £3OO, Rangiuru Hack £l2O, Rahui Handicap £2OO, Oliau Welter £l3O, and Waikanae Hack Scurry £IOO. Second and third horses will receive a portion of the above amounts. *
C. Jenkins has been riding the members of J. H. Prosser’s team in their track work at Trentham, and showed by the manner in which lie handled his mounts that ho has not forgotten ho 1 to ride,
