DEPUTATION FROM FOOTBALL CLUB. -
On/Friday evening Messrs Murphy W. Moynihan. and Birchall, as delegates . from , the Shannon Football Club, waited on the Executive of the Carnival Fund at the Council Chain-
j.her in respect to the use of the Recreation Ground for football lor the ] coining season. Mr J. Beard occupied (the chair. The speakers stressed the j importance of delaying the ploughing I oi the Domain until the end' of the j football season, which will close at ' the end of July. This would then al- ' low the ploughing to be done and the sowing to have the advantage of the spring'growth. As regards the draining .this could be gone on with at once, the Football Club being quite satisfied with the use of half the ground. They suggested the ground should be drained in two halves, allowing the club the use of the half not being worked and would remove over when requested to do so at their own expense. After the delegates had retired the Executive considered the' deputation’s request and resolved that the Football Club .be allowed the use of the'top half of the ground, for the season to end 31st July, 1924, and to remove to the other part of the ground when requested to do so by the Executive, the Football Club to bea.r all expenses in repairing their ggound and removing. The top ground to be 100yds in-depth from Whittaker’street, the Football Club to be allowed the use of the pavilion and given the right to make an entrance to the ground.
