FOXTON SILVER BAND NOTES.

Mr J. Golder has been appointed organiser of Monster Band Carnical and lie together with the chairman (Mr J., Aitehison) and the secretary (J. W. Madden) were in Shannon on Wednesday milking arrangements for same.
A meeting for the purpose of organising a queen committee for Shannon will be held alter the meeting (re Anzae ■ arrangements) on Tuesday next. *
The band is giving a free ticket throughout New Zealand to the person'selling the most tickets, so get busy. A most successful dance was held in aid of the Foxton Citizens’ Silver Band. The floor space was crowded. The Band played waltz music during ‘the evening and were complimented upon the excellent time. The “Oasis Jazz Band’’ consisting of Messrs J. Perreaui, 3. Madden, ,B. Newth, and B. Chalk, played the foxtrots and were recalled by the dancers on every occasion. • Mr B. Bennett caused great amusement. J)y his latest hit “The Oriental Barn Dance.’’ He was accompanied by the “Oasis Jazz Band.” This turn will be staged in Shannon.
