EMPIRE EXHIBITION PLAN.
MANY SUBJECTS SCHEDULED. There is to be a woman's pavilion at the British Empire Exhibition, which is to be set up by the International Council of Women, says the London correspondent of the Herald. From week to week feminine hopes and ideas for the solution of some of the world's problems will be discussed there. A peace conference is to ~e held on May sth, the object being to get at the causes of war, and to discuss what may be done to eliminate them. Other conferences will be held to discuss such questions as traffic in women, arms, liquor opium, the value of the establishment of an all-inclusive league of nations, the rights of women to full citizenship, democratic control of foreign affairs, and the training m freedom and responsibility for all. The National Councils of Women of Great Britain and Ireland, of Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, are co-operating in the exhibition scheme, and it is expected that members from each of these Councils will help as stewards and in other ways. Many affiliated societies will have “weeks" of their own.
