ST. PATRICK’S BALL.

AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION

The annual St. Patrick’s Ball was held in the Druids’ Hall last evening and proved a most enjoyable function. The night was not too warm lor dancing and over 100 couples took the floor. The hall and supper room were tastefully decorated with black,' yellow and green streamers and combined with the many coloured frocks worn by the ladies, presented a very &ay effect. The floor, which was in splendid order, - reflected great credit on the committee responsible for- preparing it, and together with the fine dance music supplied by Smith’s orchestra, helped to make, the first ball of the season in Shannon a pronounced success. The duties of master of ceremonies were most) efficiently attended to by Mr J. Crowther. Thesupper arrangements were carried out by] a ladies’ committee under the supervision of Mesdames Murphy and Peach and Misses Hennessy and Blomfield, who had prepared an excellent sit down supper which was done full justice to. Extras were played by Misses Ross, Pickett. E. Davis and Mr S. Henry. Dancing was kept up until the early hours of the morning and a most enjoyable time was spent by all.
