The chairman brought up the matter of a- playing 'area for the coming season, owing to the impr6vements being carried out at tJhe Recreation Grounds, and the possibility of the Carnival Executive having the ground ploughed before the winter. After some discussion on the matter Mr C. Hardie moved and Mr Gustofsen seconded that a committee be appointed to locate a. suitable ground. As an amendment Mr W. Moynihan moved, and Mr J. Gray seconded, that a deputation from tine Club wait on the executive of the Carnival Committee to see if some arrangement can be come to whereby the ploughing of flhe Recreation Ground could be held over until the Spring. Speaking to the motion Mr, C.'HardLa pointed out that as the Executive of the Carnival Committee was desirous of getting the best results from the amount of .money they have in -band, the Football Club should give the Executive every chance to carry our their work, and/for Dhat (reason h'o thought the Club should endeavour to get.another ground. Mr W. Moynihan, in. supporting the amendment, was of opinion that as the ploughing has not been started, the Executive if they hold it over until the spring, would be just as far ahead with their work, as there would be practically no growth in the winter, if pldughed and sown down now. He contended, that an arrangement could be come to with the Executive and advocated, if the Executive wanted to go on with the work now, that half of the ground be ploughed now -and the balance later. On being put to the vote of the meeting the amendment was carried. It was decided that failing a satis- ' factory arrangement being arrived at between the deputation, and the Executive, that an endeavour ibe, made to procure a ground elsewhere. Messrs G. Murphy, Birchall, W. Moynihan arid J. Gray were appointed a deputation to wait on the Executive of the Carnival Committee. Ttoo" meeting, then terminated With a vote to the chair.
