FOXTON WINS TRIANGULAR
SHIELD
, The final round; for the Triangular Shield, played 10-r by rinks from Foxton, Shannon and. Levin, took place at Foxton on Wednesday last in beautiful weather, and some exciting games were witnessed, the excitement increasing in the concluding stages. At the 20th head Foxton and Shannon were level, the former, ainiust great excitement having an advantage of one' point on the 21st head, thereby securing the coveted shield. The shield was then handed over by Mr W. Bull, president ol the Levin Club, to Mr Christie president of the Foxton Club. iMr Bull cong; a t Ulated the Foxton Club on their win,* and referred to tile sportsmanlike manner in which- the games had been carried oil*. . Mr Christie suitably replied.
Mr E- Spencer, president iof the Shannon Club, on the club’s behalf, also congratulated the winners. Cheers were then heartily given for the winners and for the ladies who had dispensed the refreshments. Following are the .results of the games played .Shannon: H. Butt, E. Spencer, Fargher,.
