METHODIST HARVEST FESTIVAL.
Fine weather favoured the Methodist Sale in connection with their harvest festival. In the afternoon a fair number visited th(e stalls 1 , and the stall holders seemed quite satisfied with the business done. In the evening more buyers were present and remarked on the moderate prices and excellent quality. The musical items were thoroughly enjoyed by all present. A gramaphone also helped to enliven both afternoon and. evening. There was an abundant display of fruit and vegetables, which found ready sale. Good business was done at die sweets stall and bran tubs, and those in charge of the. refreshments were kept busy. ~ Those in charge of the various stalls were: Fruit and vegetables, Mr Hill, Mrs Swindlehurst and Mrs Pettit. Tearooms, Mcsdames Quarrie, Johnston, Brassington and Pettit and the Misses. Swindlehurst (2V: sewing stall, Mesdames Biarber and Carter: .Sweets stall and bran tub, Misses Quarrie, Swindlehurst (2) and Ingley.
