HOROWHEHUA POWER BOARD.
TREASURER'S REPORT. At Tuesday's meeting of the Power Board, the Treasurer reported as follows: During the month, on accoun of contract No. 19, supply of single phase and polyphase meters—£l99s, has been forwarded to meet payments in London. The accounts for confirmation and for payment amount to £7448,145. included in these accounts are substantial payments for wire, amounting to about £1370. A year's sinking fund in connection with the £BO,OOO loan, amounting to £BOO is another item. A second progress payment on the Shannon sub-station and cottage accounts for £SOO, and poles and crossarm timber absorbs another £6OO. With the several pole and wiring gangs now working, it will be noticed that the wages pay roll is a substantial feature of the monthly payments. The accountant, Mr F.' .7. Ramsay, recently appointed by the Board, has commenced !his duties, and is engaged in opening up a set of the necessary permanent books for the Board's work and operations. Requests for financial assistance for consumers' installations have not so far assumed very large proportions. A copy of the position in this respect, rein ting, to firoups 1 and 2, will lv placed before the Board for its consideration. - Another "20 tons of bare wire is just to hand and will mean a payment shortly of £1950.
