THE LEVIN MARKET.
PRICES IMPROVE.
The Levin weekly sale on Tuesday was held in the rain, which, however, instead of dampening the proceedings as is usual, had the contrary effect, buyers, with an eye to improved feed, operating more freely than for some time. There was a large yarding of both pigs and sheep, cattle not being so well represented. The demand was keen for all lines of sheep with an upward tendency in prige. Pigs also showed an improvement, more especially in baconers and porkers where the rise was sharp. In cattle there was nothing choice offering and prices reflected quality. The only line which showed improvement' was potter bulls which sold up to £3. Prices were as follows:
Pigs.—Weaners 9/6 to 14/6. light stores 16/ to £l, heavier 26/ to 37/, light porkers 38/ to £2 15/, heavy porkers £3 5/, light baconers £3 to £3 15/, heavy to £4 2/6.
