The public school vacation ends on Tuesday. The tennis court is in excellent urder and ■ several improvements have been made lor the convenience or the pupils. The annual picnic is shortly to be field at Plimmertqn. The Anglican Sunday 'School Reopened. on me third, a good attendance being recorded. A meeting':, the conveners of which are Hie Misses Wilton and Reid, is to he held on Tuesday to consider the holding oi a leap year balJ. This should prove a popular function in view oi the lact that there are very lew entertainments being held here at present. Miss Spelman, of Palmerston North, has been spending a short holiday with Mrs J. R. Whyte. The two sons oi Mr Plullip have returned from a lengthy holiday in the Nor,th. The rivor is proving a great source .of enjoyment to the residents, the weather being most suitable for bathing.
