Messrs Levin and. Company report: on, the third sale of the 1923-24 season: The total offering was 32,000 bales, our catalogue representing 8153 bales. The buying benches were as full as usual. In our catalogue, North Island rcosabred predominated, but Merinos and halfbreds from the South Island" wore in good supply and were represented by some of the best-known clips. Bidding was animated and buyers were operating throughout with freedom as. to limits. All sections were eagerly endeavouring to fill their particular requirements. Merino was well- competed for by Dominion woollen mills, and overseas operators and a new record for New Zealand was made by "Richmond Brook," 85 bales selling at 33d. Halfbreds met with strong demand. Local mills took the choicest lots, the belance going to overseas buyers. Southdown sold equally well, reaching 28|d. Crossbreds, which were in large supply met with an astonishingly good ■ demand from all quarters. America a was taking super lots, while Brad- ; ford and the Continent were bidding for all sorts. There was a particu- ' larly strong demand for lower grades ! of wool showing the Lincoln cross • and these showed considerable appre- - elation in price. Hogget wool con- '** tinued to selhat enhanced prices as ■\ compared with fleece wool. Lambs' wool was a feature of the ,' sale as the following realisation for iV crossbred lambs will show, 20id. 203 d i ! 211 d, 221 d, 23d, 23Srl, and 23?;d.

France and the Domini on mills were the chief operators, but occassionally Bradford and America were strongly in evidence. Pieces and bellies agawi met strong competition from Italy, and France and local scourers, but the latter had small opportunity of securing parcels, the export prices being too high. As compared with the sale on December 7th, the following are the detailed changes: Merinos Id to 2d advance; fine halfbreds 2d advance; medium halfbreds lid to 2d advance; ctoarse halfbreds 2d to, 2?.d advance; fine crossbreds, 46/4S's. lid to 2d ad. vaiice; medium crossbreds, -44/4G's Id advanco; coarse crossbreds, 40/44's Id to 2d advance; low crossbreds, 36/4<J's Id to 21d advance; lambs', 4d advance; bellies and pieces, 2d advance; crutchings, 2d advance; locks and pieces 2d advance.

Messrs. Murray, "Robert and Co., report: A very large attendance of buyers, representing all sections of the trade. Bidding was free and well distributed, Bradford now being heavy buyers and the Continent keen on all suitable wools. The French were heavy buyers of lambs' in competition with local woollen mills.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency reports: The third Wellington wool sale opened on Tuesday at two o'clock, and concluded this afternoon. A catalogue comprising 32,000 bales was submitted, and about 95 per cent, was sold under the hammer. There was a full attendance of buyers, representing practically all manufacturing countries, and com. petition was very keen throughout. The recent rise in values of crossbred wools at Wanganui and Napier was fully maintained. America was a keen purchaser of suitable lots, but the bulk of the offering was purchased on Bradford account. Halfbred met with good competition, and the demand was general. Competition for Romneys and low quality wools, which were in A'ery good condition, wo 3 keen, and sustained and pri v>s can be quoted at Id to i'd dearer la it Wellington sa'.o. Piece;-- und oddments sold parti a ".lady we'd at a.cor;sitosble advance over last sale price?. There was an exceptional demand ,fcr

lambs, for which France and locul mills were keen competitors. LONDON MARKET EXCITED. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-op., Distributing Co. Ltd., have just received the following cable from their London Office:—"B.A.W.R.A. wool sales Hull to-day market excited all Crossbred 10 to 15 per cent, dearer."
