RECOGNITION OF RUSSIA.
STIFFENING OF SOVIET ATTITUDE

The “Daily News”’ Moscow correspondent says regarding - the probability of the Labour Government m Britain formally recognising the Soviet Government the “Steklov states ’on behalf of the Soviet, that i will reject all conditions. There must be recognition first, then negotiations regarding Russia’s debts to the Allies and other outstanding questions.
M Krassin states that Russia is Prepared to grant concessions for the encbhrageme'nt of trade, but he is opposed to the importation of cheap textiles, believing manufactures should he increased in Russia in order to prevent the ruin of home industry.
