BeaufUful weather; has here for the holidays, tempting many picnic parties to adjourn to the ssea-l side for a day’s outing, to enjoy the cooler -breezes at the Foxton beach. The New Year w-as hailed with delight by a party at ithe residence of Mi’s Miller, when the .ev/eming was enlivened by song and story. Miss Sitokes -contributing two iso-ngs which were heartily applauded. Miss Mo Hurdle, who has been visiting relar t-ives here, is. now the guest of Mrs Barber, tof Foxton.
Misfc Stevenson; formerly of ' th'ei school staff, is visiting friends Jn this district.
Miss Parr is spending a pleasant holiday in Auckland. Mr and Mrs Phillip, who -motored through to the Taita, spent a pleasant time v-isitingi old friends. Mrs Hughes' and her children are paying a short visit to relatives in Otaki.
