In order that such attempts, which have in a number °f occasions been tihe cause of somewhat unseemly contretemps, the Vatican authorities have, just decided to issue a set of printed instructions describing the way a woman must be dressed when seeking admission to the presence of the Pope. The rules, which are three in numbeir, read as follow: First: A high collar reaching to the ears. Second: Sleeves reaching ,to the wrist. Third: A black, plain dress, anklelong. , The rules will be printed in Italian, French, and English, on the back ol the admission cards for Papal audiences.
