DAIRY EXPORT BOARD.
APATHY OF SUPPLIERS. If the poll of dairy factory suppliers, as to whether the Dairy Export Control Act should come into force or not, was disappointing, 'there is evidence that the present ballot being taken, by post for the election of the board under the Act will be doubly so. The ballot papers were sent out nearly a fortnight ago to 53,000 suppliers in the Dominion, who are entitled to vote for the personnel of the board, but, though the poll will close at noon to-morrow, only 13,532 envelopes containing ballot papers have been received by the returning officer. Of this number 8710 are from .the North Island, -which has to elect six -members, and 48213 from the South Island, which has to elect three members. The proportion of voters that have already recorded their votes is about the same--£5 per cent, —for each island. It is not expected that the total vote will than one-thirdi of the suppliers of the Dominion. _____
