SHANNON DEFEATS LEVIN Y.M.CA. Shannon had no difficulty in defeating the Levin Y.M.CA. Cricket Ciuib iat the Levin Domain on Saturday. Y.M.'s fielding was the weakest point, and many scores which swelled the visitors' total might haye been eliminated if this department had been more efficient. As it was Shannon, carried off the honours by .121 runs to Levin's 1 |6O. Y.M.CA. hatted first but found the bowling of Pope pretty deadly, and all the batsmen except Walker suscumbed before reaching double ures. Walker and Huason were the top scorers, the former makingi 15 and the latter wielding a pretty bat for 9.

Shannon, on the other hand, were in form. Mayne punished the bowling severely and with free -hitting all round peached the respectable total of 44 before one from Field into the hands of Walker.
