OBITUARY.
MR THOMAS GREGORY. An oldi and ihighly respected resident of Levin, Mr Thomas Gregory, of Makb Mako road, died on Saturday, at the age of 76 years. He first came to New- Zealand over 40 years ago landing a>t Wellington. He settled' at the Hutt aiid soon after went into the service of the Railway Department and followed the occupation of linesman for many years. Later he came to Levin and joined the staff of the County Council. In 1906 when 'the Borough of lievin was formed Mr Gregory took a position with .the Council which he held until his retirement from active, work some six years ago. He was'widely known and greatly esteemed by a large nujmbier of friends who will extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. The. late Mr Gregory is survived by a widow and. 1 three sons, Thomas (Petone), Ambrose (Ngaio), and Oliver (Gisborne), and 'four daughters, Megdames J. Ban- and F. Piatt (Wellington), J. Rossi (Pahiatua), and A. Gregory ' (Shannon). ■
