SHAiNNON v. MOUTOA.

On Saturday the Shannon Cricket.\ Club eleven journeyed' to Mouß>a • -where they played their first chain- ' pionship meeting this season 'against the niewly-forni-ed N Moutoa Club. The visitors had an easy win registering 402 against Moutoa's 37, the winner* ' being very ' fortunate' in disposing of Moutoa's two best batting men (Hume andV Mason) for one run. Moutoa have a good batting team, and with a bit moaie practice should do well in the future. Shannon ,can be considered iniost fortunate in getting them out for such a small total. Hunt, . wicket-keeper, assisted largely in bringing about their downfall, no bytes being registered; and his catch from Elworthy was clever, he having . to run Half way up the pitch to take it,.'whew, he fell, but was successful in retaining the bail, for which piece , of ; play ■ Intel was applauded. Shannon '• have unearthed a good bowler in C. Cording, who in three overs secuned . three wickets for five runs. Doidge was also in- good form securing thuee wickets for two runs iat the tail end of 'Mo-tltoa's innings, lin Madden, Moutoa have a good off-break bowler, who in eight overs secured five'-wic-kets for 32 runs, tiheir otliler bowlers to do well being Wallis in four overs .two wickets for eight runs, and Mason four overs two wickets for 22 runs: Bartting for Shannon, Main (25), Hupt (18), Harris (20), land Johnston (11) were responsible for three'-fourths of thei total while T.
