DECLINE IN PIGS
The yarding at the Levin weekly sale on Tuesday was back to normal from the unusually large offering of the previous week. The sale, except in the case of sheep, which sold well at late rates, was dull. Pigs showed a declintei of about 4s on last week's prices, which Ihlad increased by 2s over those of the preceding sale. Cattle, with the exception of fats were weak and yearling heifers which ha,ve been selling readily of late, were neglected. Quotations are as follow: Pigs: Small porkers 15s to 19s, better sorts £1 to 27s 6d, stores 29s to 36s porkers, light £2 2 S to £2, 14s, heavier £2 19s to £3 10s. Sheep: Prime woolly hoggets 39S to 41s 6d, fat hoggets 28s 9d to 29s sd, fat woolly mixed sex sheep 36s to 425, lighter 27s Id. shorn fat ewes 28s sd, forward wethers 27s 6d, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 265, empty forward-con-.ditioned woolly ewes 245. Cattle :Fat cows £4 5s to £6 10s, vealers £2 6s to £2 9s, forward conditioned'cows to £3 ss. Three-year-old steers £4 Is, Polled Angus cows 20s to £2, yearling heifers 27s 6d to £4 10s, bulls 37s 6d to £2 10s.
