TOTjBNAMENT TO BE HELD

At a meeting of thd Shannon Boxing Association on Saturday evening it was decided to bold the first tournament on Saturday, November 24th, in /the Druids’ Hall. The secretary wai instructed to* write the Manawatu Boxing* Association notifying the date .and to ask for the necessary permit until affiliation has been granted by the N.Z. Boxing Council. Mr Steer paid a visit to Palmerston North, yesterday ,>to endeavour to arrange suitable bouts for the local lads and the secretary is in communication with two* amateurs in New Zealand with a View to arranging a star bout. Visitors from Wellington, Palmerston North and Hawera, have signfied their intention of being present at the opening tournament and ive feel sure the nfrwly formed Association’s opening to-urnanient will be a successful, one.
