DICK WHITTINGTON.

A DECIDEDLY GOOD PERFORMANCE

Thursday’s Levin “Chronicle” says: That Mr Tano Rama showed great discrimination when he selected the cast for “Dick Whittington,” staged at toe People’s. Theatre last night., is revealed in a bright, breezy performance, evenly acted and magnificently staged. Miss Sadie Tilbum, who play® the part of principal boy, is admirably cast and in her vocal numbers, had to respond to insistent recalls. She is ably supported by a principal girl in the. person of Miss Ivy Bowman, a pleasant soubrette, while the fun of the show is supplied by an excellent dame in Mr Ted Stanley. Mr Stanley is not only a fountain of humour, but sings the latest American hits in a pleasing manner. Mr Frank Cane, is toe specialty turn of the panto .and offered something entirely new in ventriloquism.. And one must not forget the cat, for this proves to be a singing cat and little Jacky Gass comes in for no small share of the merit of the show as he sings and dances exceptionally well. Of course no panto is complete without its beauty chorus and in this respect Dick Whittington is accompanied by a well trained chorus and ballet selected from among Australia’s best. With shows of this standard the public of Levin will be pleased! to welcome Mr Fama again at on early, date.
