The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received a cable from its London office, dated October 26, advising: Smithfield delivered prices at that date as.follow:— i Prime Canterbury lamb, 291bs to 361bs, 10 7-8 d; 37lbs to 42lbs, 10 3-8 d; 43lbs to 50lbs, 9|d; second quality lambs, lOd. '„ Other selected brands of lamb, 29lbs to 36lbs, 10ld; 37lbs to 421bs, 10 l-Bd. The market is quiet,, but firm. Mutton: Light-weight wethers, B£d per lb; medium weight wethers 7|d; heavy weight wethers 7 3-8 d; ewes 6d. / sales are slow.
Ox beef: Fores 3 l-8d; hinds 4|d. A further advance is expected, in consequence of Argentine exporters ceasing operations, owing to the Argentino Government having fixed minimum prices.
