MEETING AX SHANNON. A (meeting of the Horo.wlien.ua CricKet Association was held on Friday evening in, the Council Chambers. Mr H. Hook (president) 'Occupied the chair. Also present": Messrs Fletcher anfl Mackenzie .4£.MX.A-), 'Johnston (Shannon), Bishop (Public Works); and .the secretary (Mr A. H. Morgan). CORRESPONDENCE. The following teams were nominated: for t the competition at the Southern end.—Otaki one team,, Rahui two teams and Paraparaumu one team, time; of matches. A notice of motion; by Mr Fletcher, "That, home iteiams playing in their own town must start at 2 p.m., otherwise Itime to be made up at the 1 end of the day," came before the meeting for consideration.

After further, discussion it Was finally decided on the 1 "motion of Mr Hook seconded by Mr Johnston, "That home matches between, two teams -of one town must start at 2 p.m., and| not more than half an hour's grace be allowed to visiting teams." UNFINANCIAU MEMBERS.

It was agreed on/ the motion of Mr Fletcher, seconded by Mr Bishop, "That no pliayer be picked fo-ra representative team- whoi is an unftnancial member." Also 1 that a list of financial members of each Club he submitted to the secretary of the Association not later thlafn December Ist. i GENERAL. It was decided fo arrange for a representative match to be played in ihe district, place! of pHay to be left in the hands of the secretary. On the motion of the -secretiarv. seconded by Mr Bishop, and -endorsed by, all present, a. vote of thanks was accorded;*to the press for assistance given to the Association during the past season. Mr Fletcher said tha* when a' team was advertised to play he would like to see the umpires' na-mies included. It. was ridiculous allowing lanvbbdv to (umpire as it. was most essential the -umpire! -should have a proper knowledge of cricket. J Mr Mackenzie agreed .the umpires • should be cricketers, but not necessarily active players. It was decided to. nominate Messrs R. Sands,/ T. Torrey, Fletcher, and C. Hawke <a.s umpires.
