THE LEVIN MARKET.
There was a small yarding of all classes of stock at the Levin weekly sale yesterday. Sheep were represented by one. pen of • hoggets which sold well at 27s Id. Pigs did not come forward as freely as of late, those offering meeting with a ready* sale at late rates. Cattle were almost entirely of poor quality. A good fine of well-bred Hereford grade yearling steers realised £3 12s. Prices were as follow : Pigs; Small weaners 16s to 19s, better grown, to 265, stores 30s, light porkers £2*to £2 11s, heavier £2 15s to £3 2s 6d. Sheep: good mixed hoggets 27s Id. Cattle: Dairy cows £4 2s 6d to £9, spring heifers to £6 7s 6d. good yearling Jersey heifers £5, yearling Shorthorn heifers £2, empty cows £3 7s, store cows £1 to 30s, yearling Hereford steers £3 12s, yearling' Shorthorn steers £3 ss, 2-year-old Holstein steers £3 15s.
